Earthbag Houses

Affordable and sustainable living

Courtesy -

Sacks filled with soil or even recycled waste are piled on top of one another, then the structure is covered with plaster

The houses are disaster-resistant, warm in winter and cool in summer

Much cheaper to build than regular houses

Prepare site by removing vegetation and topsoil.

Dig foundation trench.

Fill bags and start to build walls, starting from foundation trench, reinforcing each layer with barbed wire.

Set positions for doors and windows and place bags around them.

Allow the structure to cave in to form a dome.

Once completed, reinforce outside with plaster.
