using community efforts to bribe businesses into greener practices

Carrotmobbers organise for a large crowd of people to visit a business – boosting sales profits – in return for that business promising to use a percentage of the profits to improve their sustainability

This has worked in Canada – where a grocery store promised to use 22% of profits towards improving sustainability. The total revenue made from the carrotmob was over $9,000

Survey businesses – if we were to bring a mob of people to spend money on your business, what percentage of revenue would you be willing to use on sustainability?

Use social media/networks to gather interest in the carrotmobbing activity, delineating time and place of activity.

Online – use crowdfunding to sell vouchers.

In person – encourage people to come at set time.

Use social media and online platforms to ensure transparency.
